Bulova is one of the world’s great watchmakers and is one of the very few Swiss brands that is not part of the SMH conglomerate.

Originally a US company, being founded in New York in 1875 by Bohemian immigrant, Joseph Bulova, manufacturing switched to Switzerland in the 1940’s.

Bulova’s most notable achievement is the development of the Accutron, an electronic movement that used a 360 hertz tuning fork to drive a mechanical gear train to turn the hands. Released in 1960 it was the first electronic wristwatch and claimed to be the most accurate watch available.
